From legal setbacks to launching Da Shuffla Con, this Columbus underground artist is doing everything himself—music, business, events, and more.

Hoodrichdurk’s story isn’t a straight line. It’s a mix of setbacks, growth, and figuring out how to keep moving through everything life throws at him. He’s not just focused on music. He’s juggling a clothing brand, building his own network, and organizing events, all while staying locked in on his faith and the bigger picture.

Even with everything going on, Hoodrichdurk’s approach stays personal. His story is full of lessons about staying grounded as an independent artist in Columbus’s underground scene, learning how to manage people, timing, and expectations without losing momentum.

Building Piece by Piece

From the start, his process has been all about doing things in pieces. Instead of overwhelming himself, he broke everything into months: February was for music, March for clothing, April for planning, and May for execution. That simple structure helped him stay on track, even when life got heavy.

Rather than trying to tackle everything at once, he learned how to apply the same patience to his business moves that he applies to his music. It’s not about rushing. It’s about building something solid.

Learning from Loss and Pressure

The pressure to succeed isn’t new to Hoodrichdurk. His path includes plenty of loss—friends, family, and heavy personal struggles. At one point, legal troubles nearly derailed him completely. But each time he got knocked down, faith and self-awareness helped pull him back up.

He speaks openly about battling survivor’s guilt, the weight of expectations, and the mental grind of trying to grow while carrying so much. But instead of giving up, he adjusted. And that mindset is what’s allowed him to keep expanding beyond just music.

Running His Own Show

For Hoodrichdurk, independence is everything. He’s hands-on with every part of his career, from designing merch to planning events. His upcoming event "Da Shuffla Con" is a perfect example—he personally locked in the venue, vendors, artists, security, parking, and even wristbands. Nothing gets outsourced.

That level of control comes with a lot of responsibility, but it also means every move reflects his vision. Hoodrichdurk isn’t waiting on anyone to make opportunities happen. He’s creating them.

Managing People and Personalities

One of his biggest challenges hasn’t been the work itself—it’s been managing people. As his projects have grown, dealing with different personalities, schedules, and expectations has tested his patience. But through it, he’s learned how to stay focused on what he can control.

"Balance" is the word he keeps coming back to. Instead of trying to force outcomes, he stays consistent, takes setbacks as lessons, and keeps faith at the center of it all.

What Comes Next

Even with multiple projects running at once, Hoodrichdurk sees all of this as just the beginning. He’s got new music on the way, a broadcasting network in development, and plans to turn his events into annual staples.

His approach isn’t about chasing quick wins. It’s about staying steady, trusting his path, and letting everything build naturally over time. Brick by brick, as he says.
